Meena’s research focuses on Indian foreign policy, the geopolitics of South Asia and Malaysia and ASEAN’s relations with the region. She is also interested in Global South cooperation mechanisms and understanding how regionalism/regionalisation, inter/intra-regionalism, minilateralism and multilateralism function in the Indo-Pacific. Her writings have appeared in Lowy Institute’s The Interpreter, ORF Online, ISEAS Fulcrum, The Diplomat, Contemporary Southeast Asia and the European Journal of East Asian Studies. She completed an MA in European Regional Integration at Universiti Malaya and a BSc in Psychology at the University of Madras. She holds a PhD from Universiti Malaya, conferred for her seminal work on the Tirukkural’s contribution to non-Western international relations.
