On 26 November 2025, Centre for Airpower Studies (CAPSS), in collaboration with ORCA India, organized a focused discussion centered on two recent special reports by Senior Research Associates Rahul Karan Reddy and Ratish Mehta. Moderated by Prahlad Kumar Singh, the event offered fresh insights into contemporary Chinese politics and governance through data-driven analysis and narrative exploration.

Rahul Karan Reddy presented his report titled “Decoding Ten Years of Anti-Corruption Data in China: Patterns of Investigations & Punishments,” which examined a decade-long dataset of anti-corruption investigations within China. Through detailed pattern analysis, Reddy highlighted institutional trends and the evolving mechanisms of governance and political discipline under the Communist Party.

Ratish Mehta discussed his report, “Chinese Democracy in Theory and Practice: CPC’s Domestic and Foreign Election Narratives,” exploring how democracy is framed within Chinese political thought and practice. His presentation shed light on the Communist Party’s shifting rhetoric concerning governance legitimacy and democracy, both domestically and in its foreign policy narratives.

The event convened scholars, researchers, and policy practitioners to engage with these multifaceted perspectives, fostering vibrant discussions on China’s governance model and political narratives. By integrating empirical research with theoretical insights, the seminar enriched ongoing debates in China studies and policy research in India.
