On November 12, 2025, Senior Research Associate Omkar Bhole represented the Organisation for Research on China and Asia (ORCA) at FLAME University, Pune, under the ongoing FLAME-ORCA research and academic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
He conducted a workshop titled “Engaging with Non-English Sources in Social Science Research”, which focused on the methods, digital tools and challenges involved in incorporating non-English resources in data-driven research. The session underscored the importance of multilingual engagement in enhancing the analytical depth and inclusivity of contemporary social science inquiry.
Through interactive discussions and practical insights, the workshop encouraged students to diversify their research methodologies and approach cross-language data as a critical component of their academic journey. The session reflected ORCA’s broader commitment to fostering multilingual competencies and rigorous academic inquiry among emerging researchers.
